I don’t know about you, but I have been waiting for this seemingly endless Winter to make an exit, so that we can enjoy beautiful Spring days. Last year, our family enjoyed hiking and biking during the Spring and Summer months. This month’s Sew the Rainbow project, was inspired by these outdoor activities.
By the way, my Irish family may be cringing a bit that I am featuring the color orange for March, instead of green, but alas, orange was the next color in line.
The Project: A Drawstring Backpack
The Inspiration: Getting excited for a morning hike with the family!
- A half-yard of DS Quilts Collections Aunt Edna Circle Dot
- Two 4 inch by 4 inch squares of white duck canvas, to make loops for the cord
- Four Yards of White Cord
The Result: A handy backpack ready to be filled with a water bottle, bug spray, and a few snacks
I love this orange fabric and I’m excited that I could make something fun and functional.
Next month’s project will be Yellow. I am open to suggestions and inspiration – comment or email if you have something that you’d like to see!
Thanks for following along with the Sew the Rainbow project.
